Phase I

CRO Biomapas conducts Phase I trials at a department of Kaunas 2nd Hospital, a base for teaching by the Kaunas University of Medicine. The department can accommodate 24 volunteers at one time. Its facilities are suitable for continuous monitoring of the condition of volunteers and provides for their leisure. Should any vital threat to the volunteer's life surface, a volunteer can be immediately transferred to the Intensive Care Department of the hospital.

The investigators working in this facility are experienced specialists, who are well-trained in GCP and hold medical science degrees. They have conducted studies with medications of various groups, including, for example, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and analgetics, haematological, cardiovascular, hormone, and haematopoietic factors, as well as various pharmaceutical forms, such as tablets, oral solutions, and subcutaneous injections. Experienced and trained clinical trial nurses also work in the Phase I Facility. The Phase I Facility operates in accordance with SOPs, developed by CRO Biomapas to ensure optimal and quality work organization.

Clinical pharmacology trials, such as pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK and PD) trials, bioavailability and bioequivalency trials, as well as food and drug interaction studies are conducted at the Phase I Facility. CRO Biomapas maintains an extensive database of volunteers, which enables successful initiation of any clinical trial and execution of a sponsor's plan.
